Late fall season and needlework are not compatible where I live. It´s all about hills, light and bad eyesight... So today I established a new working schedule for me: get up half an hour earlier than usual, have breakfast, clean the kitchen then do cross stitching or knitting or the like for an hour- sunbeams make it into the studio through the dormer window. Then it´s cleaning again and preparing lunch, which has to be ready before twelve, because between twelve and one thirty PM (at the moment) there´s enough light coming through the balcony window. From then on it´s eat, drink, rest and be merry time. I won´t work under artificial light, gives me a headache and klieg eyes. I know that I won´t be able to finish the Christmas cushion cover in time, but that´s okay. Until now I have done one boot of a dwarf, which is about a hundreth of what is left to stitch, if I omit the Christmas tree... I need Cassian as a booster. He loves watching me do cross stitching. He is the shearer of the threads, a very important job for a little one! Well, grandson will be with us for three whole days towards the end of September anyway, because mummy will be off to Venice. I think I will have to set an entertainment programme for Cassian and husband mine, which should include them having lunch in restaurants. What I fear is that the boy´s dad aka number two will exploit the situation for his part and show up for meals with his younger offspring, because he does not intend to cook either. Let´s see how this will work out!
The leaves that have turned yellow so soon this year now won´t leave the trees now, and I have to postpone the autumnal pruning back. We live in a sea of yellow, with warm temperatures with next to no breeze. Hopefully there will be no snow for the rest of the season (and the next one, too, if it were up to me), or branches might break off aplenty!
