...was squish the tofu. Daughter had brought a whole kilo for our last family meeting. THat was before everyone wanted to have ramen. Tofu needed instant processing, only that neither hubby nor I do love tofu that much- too bland, to mushy to our liking. Then I found a new recipe and decided to give it a try- freeze the tofu, thaw it up then squeeze it, to get as much water as possible out of it. But squishing a kilo turned out a killer for my fingers. And the water coming out did not seem to stop. After almost half an hour tofu and fingers were done, and I finally coated the mess with cornstarch then oil and put it in the oven. Apparently the freezing also alters the inner structure, it was more like meat then and turned out crispy and after a bath in Korean sauce quite savory. Definitely worth the work, though next time hubby can do the squishing, his hands are way bigger than mine!
Daughter took down more of the Christmas decorations- she is way taller than I am and reaches the higher shelves. Items with winter motives are allowed to stay until winter is over. We still have skiing mooses in the livingroom! February 22nd might be a good day to bring the Easter decoration up from the cellar and ring spring in!
At the moment we have a veritable thunderstorm. The day started with temperatures too warm for winter and sunshine, now it's grey and nasty, preparing for more rainfall to let loose upon us. Next week winter might return (or not). As horrible as it sounds, but I asked hubby to dig a grave for our cat now, next to her brother's resting place, and not wait until the ground will be frozen. I won´t leave her at the vet, if she is to be put down, and even less will I bring her to one of those containers, if she dies at home.
Daughter will stay for another night. At the moment husband mine is driving her to her flat, where she has to pick up her uniform. Her shift will start at seven in the morning, so it´s me who will drive her to the airport. No big problem, usually I am wide awake at six (and fast asleep one hour later)!
