Today´s food run was a short one- neither hubby nor I were bent on spending time in chilly shops- a lot of shops here have dutifully turned down room temperatures (upon the recommendation of our Green environment minister) and raised the prices of goods instead, so that increasing body temperatures of clients because of raised prices would effect a balance. The shops were crowded despite the bad weather, which caused extremely slippers streets. A lot of tourists must have been in need of restocking fridges in their lodgings, because we passed many a shopping cart loaded with beer crates and other alcoholic beverages. There were also gaps on the shelves were once rum had been stored...
After shopping hubby went shovelling the driveway, and because it´s a short driveway we have, he continued shovelling the street, even though our private snow ploughing service aka farmer with his refitted tractor had come to the rescue at five in the morning. Hubby really must love working in the snow! I did a bit of tidying the house then retreated to the studio for knitting. Still no big heart in the works, because today I forgot to buy new needles when in the shop:( Afterwards I turned my PC on and watched a few videos with stout males braving the cold. I now know what´s a must for such vlogs in addition to camera, knapsack and sleeping bag: military outfit, the hugest pocketknife you can get on Amazon, a frying pen, at least a dozen eggs, ham and a dog. Or better, two. Dogs are fun to watch, and you know they will make good background actors, when there´s no more ìnteresting stuff you can vlog.
My hobby is raid the fridge of things that need quick processing, which ended in potato soup with bacon and mushrooms plus the pair of Vienna sausages hubby had not eaten the day before. Tomorrow will be hubby´s turn. He raids the freezer from things that have been there for too long. We will have the turkey meat he saved from our Christmas turkey, so no cooking needs to be done tomorrow!
There´s more snow coming during night. Might be nice for the tourist regions, but honestly, do we need snow in town? Fortunately on weekends snowploughs do not work as often as during the week, though there´s more snow now, way more than before! I think I´ll better change my userpic, before the situation gets out of hand!
BTW, daughter had one hell of a day at the airport- too many planes, too much snow. Passengers are grumpy, because it takes quite a time to get out of their seats. They should be glad that they can come in at all, and not end up at Vienna airport then have to go to their destinations by train and bus!
