T'was another night of rattling blinds and pouring rain, and neither hubby nor I had a decent sleep. This morning we found quite a lot of things in our garden that did not belong to us. Funniest thing was a big red Christmas bauble. Somebody as lazy as I did not bring the outdoor decoration to safety in time. There also was a lot of plastic waste, which went right into the bin. Bauble will stay and decorate my outdoor tree next Christmas!
It felt like spring today- a bit of sunshine, a bit of rain, six degrees, birds chirping endlessly. It will stay this way for the rest of the week, a very different situation from the one the weather forecast had painted two days ago. Tomorrow strong winds will be back, rain, too, to kill what's left of the snow. Elsa will be very disappointed, she so loves snow!
I did a cat food run today- now it's 1,49 bucks for a tin of 85 gramm. And it's the cheapest renal food you can get in shops. Buy some at the vet, and it's twice as much...
Hubby's bout of gout is very persistant and gets worse instead of better. He does drink water only, we have less meat, no offals (never have, yuck!!!), no legumes (:(( ), lots of salad. That's why I did a banana cake today, to liven up his diet:

Does not look spectacular but tastes very good. Finest chocolate and coconut puree as ingredients! And rum. Everything gets better with rum... Me baking indicates how bored I was today. My flat iron refused to work, so I was not able to sew the pink heart onto the red one, and the ribbon is a mess still. I did a bit of tidying the guest room, did another update on the listing of my Schleich collection and tidied out two more drawers of my working table. Found copies of the old Wraeththu portraits I did for a friend, which reminded me that it's over two years now that Storm Constantine is gone. It's sad to know that with her the Wraeththu community died, too. If I ever will manage to finish the project 'remodel the studio', I need to buy a new personal bookshelf, where I can put those books I love most. We have book shelves aplenty in the antechamber, but I learned one thing: Out of sight, out of mind! And I need to re-read Storm's books. I love the way she writes. Wrote. It's strange to have to accept the fact that no more novels will get written by her...
