One more day
Mar. 9th, 2023 06:44 pm Daughter stayed at our house for another day. She was much better today yet needed to do a lot of exhausting (rather costly) grocery shopping- which we did together beyond the border, because it´s cheaper in Germany than in good old Austria. Tomorrow hubby will bring daughter dearest and her heavy rucksack into town, where she will have to climb the stairs to her flat on the seventh floor all by herself- the lift hasn´t seen repair work since more than four weeks. But there´s no way she can stay for another day, when Cassian will be our guest tomorrow. Cassian has a fixation on his aunt that stresses poor Lil out- the boy will cling to her all day long, if possible. So daughter out, grandchild in- it never gets boring in our house!
We had spring weather today with sixteen degrees and no strong winds at all- those died down the moment hubby was back from cycling. Our part of the country got spared, which is a blessing. Since weather forecast did not mention a return of winter for the next two weeks I also drove to a nearby nursery and bought bellis and pansies for the flowerpots in front of the house and spring snowflakes for the sheltered place, where once Tiny Tim had had his domicile. Needless to say that a bit of fencing is indicated, or hubby will kill the new plants with the help of the lawn mower. He always does. To husband dearest everything beneath 20 centimetres is grass, and grass needs to be cut...
Still no yarn for repair work on daughter´s sweater- I will have to do the trip to the wool shop alone- my friend was not so amused that I cancelled our tour. Well, I am a big old girl who can do such trips alone. My friend acts up like a sulky toddler every now and again, even though she is five years my senior. I have learned to cope with her demeanour...
