I did nothing, absolutely nothing except for the few daily chores which have to be done to keep the place presentable, and even those got done only half-heartedly. Two reasons- first one is that I went from hibernating to springtime fatigue. Has been this way always, and the older I am the worse it gets. Since other people my age are also complaining, I am not a bit worried. It will soon get better, when I am used to warmer temperatures. The second reason is that I definitely did not get enough sleep last night. Daughter was here, we did watch TV for far too long (no crime stories!!!) and when I went to bed at one in the morning I left the bedroom window open, and it seemed fine- no winds, moderate temperatures.Of course, I knew that at some point the birds would wake us, but hubby and I are willing to come to terms with their chirping- it won´t go away until the end of summer. At five o'clock, it was pitch-dark still, foehn set in. Foehn is bad, because it will blow around things which did not get stored and, even worse, the wind coming from this direction will make the chimney howl- but not as loud as the cats did out in the garden. I stormed down, yanked the terrace door open, almost running through the blinds- happens if you forget to put on your glasses. Hermine was sitting on the vegetable plants on the gardening table, four meddlesome males on the floor. I chased the toms off, gave Hermine a few encouraging pets- and promptly started to sneeze. No, I did not take my allergy pills when I stormed into the garden. Yes, there are willows, hazelnuts, alders and birches nearby I am allergic to, all of them blooming just now. Hubby was not amused that I returned to bed with a stuffy nose and continued with sneezing for quite a while. Needless to say we both got up early and did not feel energetic for the rest of the day. Four hours of sleep are not enough time to get rested. And there´s more to come- today I might get sleep enough, who knows, but Saturday daughter has early shift. Yay, getting up at four, coming home after five, and Sunday morning I will get one hour less of sleep because of summer time switch- that´s a real pleasure!
