Hubby has broken the cup holder of my exercise bike. Apparently he thought that he might use it for himself, since the weather was too cold for biking outside. Only that it´s a) my personal bike b) the seat adjustment does not work anymore c) I am little, he is tall. I did notice it only when I decided to do a short session (I always do very short ones or I´d die of a heart attack) and scratched my knee when dismounting. Hubby had to bear the wrath of his irate wife for the rest of the day.
Today I got up early, because it was so freezing cold in the bedroom and I had slept beside my duvet. Hubby has turned off radiator heating, only the floor heating is still on on the ground-floor. This was okay, until weather decided to switch back to winter. With no sun for three days in a row the first floor feels like a fridge. First way today was down into the cellar, to reactivate radiator heating. Number four is a bit chilled, too, because central heating got turned off in the house he lives with the beginning of spring. Two of my friends have the same problem. Our Green minister has ordered reduction of heating to save the planet, housing associations did indeed follow her orders. Thank heavens that temperatures are rising again! Husband mine has even been at the DIY shop and bought a first load of insulating boards for the attic. He got told that this would help against the cold in winter and heat in summer. If he lays them correctly...
I filled four boxes with things that will get brought to a local flea market today- books, clothing, crockery mostly. Then son number three asked us to contact a local bicycle shop, because he was not able to get a Woom bike for Elsa in any of the shops nearby- sold out everywhere! Hubby found a shop that had the bike in the right size and colour and bought it for him. A bike for 530 Euro- must be the Mercedes among children´s bikes!
Since we had plenty of leftovers from yesterday´s lunch, so no cooking necessary, hubby and I wanted to do a shopping trip beyond the border before lunch, alas, we only made it to the rubbish dump and back, because my digestive system did act up. A wise decision to return home, because a big part of the next two hours got spent with wandering to the bathroom. I did not feel particularly sick, but was not well enough to leave the house...
Next try will be tomorrow morning. Hubby is a wise man and decided that this year we would buy dyed Easter eggs at a grocery shop in Germany, because eggs are way cheaper there. Another wise decision, because I hate egg dying, but with grandchildren you will need to have some...
