Xaver, what´s up?
May. 3rd, 2023 07:42 pm One of those dark days in May- light was still on at eleven in the morning, though it was not even raining. But it was cool and damp and misty- not the sort of day you´d want if you could choose, now that spring should slowly turn towards early summer. You must not forget- where I live autumn starts in the middle of August! Then again, I would be happy if real spring would finally roll in! At least, the next days we might be up to twenty degrees (before we fall back to 15). Oh well, life is not a picnic!
To be on the safe side I confined myself to the studio, when hubby continued with isolation work. Eyes have been better the last two days, so why endanger them by exposing myself to those fine fibres coming from the attic! I did a long round of knitting and am not ecstatic about the outcome, but I know that all will turn out fine. It´s only that by looking at the future jumper I have to think of a sunset in winter, which I consider depressing. Okay, Elsa might think otherwise, she´s the specialist when it comes to Frozen, and I am pretty sure that there were sunsets in winter to see in the movie, but I never made it that far- just hate the constant singing! Hubby also did today´s cooking- meat dumplings with Wiener kraut. And just when the both of us had started our after-lunch nap, son number one and Xaver showed up for a visit. Son had to leave at half past three to pick Oscar up from school, but Xaver, who always was tied to either mummy or daddy, decided to stay a bit longer. No daddy needed this time. Hubby brought him home at six in the evening. There´s always a first time...
Technically I am ready for bed now- being up (but not running) since six in the morning and no early-afternoon nap will do this to me. I better do some googling to find a way to get rid of the fungal infection of our quince tree. Tomorrow will be a day without rain (hooray!) which would be good for bringing outfungicide! Then it´s down to the living room to watch TV. Or sleep in the new old wing chair we inherited from DiL number two...
