Once upon a time I told one of the ladies on my friends list that we had wolves in our country, but bears do mostly cross it (for a better palace) and seldom stay near the border in Carinthia, Styria and and East Tyrol. And if they decide to stay, some hunter often thinks that one bear is one bear too many and takes the law into his own hands. So I was quite excited, when I got up, took the daily and looked at the first article: Bear has been sighted by police near the recycling yard of a community. Only that it´s the community where son number two lives, and the recycling area is about 300 metres away from the house. Behind son´s house there´s only wood and the first slopes of the Untersberg- idyllic living, but you have to share with nature. This bear has a great potential to end up as a bearskin bedside carpet. Not one bit timid about humans- bear has also been sighted at the outskirts of another village 15 kilometres away. And he/she is used to sack the organic waste bins, even though the woods have red deer and deer aplenty. Even now you can hear and sometimes see deer belling in the rutting season! Creepy to hear, believe me!After breakfast it was out into the conservatory for jigsawing and moping up the water that had made it in during night, then housework, then daughter and I did lunch together (her meeting got cancelled). Since hubby had cut my after-lunch rest short, I managed to finish and fix the second layer of the jumper (more swearing practice got done during the process), and now it´s hang out the laundry, take a shower and spend some time in front of the TV. Or maybe not, because hubby will want to watch the football game at nine. But since the living room is the only cosy room at the moment, I will have to take what I can get...
Today was the coldest day of the week- the highest temperature we had was eight degrees. Yet hubby decided to start work on the pool. Since daughter had a very deep after-lunch nap and did not react to my pounding, it was me who had to help husband mine drag the first two metal plates off the pool. The problem is that I am too short for this. But two plates we did manage, and the pump is on, to remove last year´s water. Hubby thinks that on Friday all of the water will be gone and he will be able to clean the pool. Not so sure about this, because daughter-in-law has already heralded that she needs us to supervise her offspring- both of them. No problem with Cassian, not so sure about Flavius! But we have to be quick- the cleaning of the pool takes a long time, if we do it properly, then hubby will have to varnish the rim, and only then we can start the slow process of filling it with water of our well. Rain will come back at the beginning of next week, so water from above might contribute to the process!
