Posting early
Jun. 18th, 2023 06:33 pm Livejournal behaves very odd since yesterday evening, from not accessible to replies getting sent twice to reply explosion- I had 28 replies in my mailbox this morning but none showing up, when I clicked on them. Twice I got a notification that the staff was working hard to get to the cause of disfunction. But when I tried the LJ down or not site, no disfunction did show up. Odd, really odd!
Hubby was more off than at home today. He is so excited that family number two will be back home this evening. He has stocked up their fridge. He will order pizza for them, so that son won't have to do dinner. I wish he'd been so considerate, when our family came back from vacation! Or that my parents would have thought of such a welcome food order- which was totally impossible, because they almost always travelled at the same time, often together with my sister. Thusly I missed Japan, Canada and the travels to our relatives in Arizona, all things I wanted to catch up on when retired. Then came Corona and climate catastrophe and exploding prices for tickets. Needless to say that not a bit of travelling got done since then, besides, we qualify as children´s day care now :((
Yesterday I bought the wool for two more sweaters, this time for Cassian and Flavius. There's a bit of wool left from Elsa's one- this I had to promise Cassian. Blue-turquoise for the sea, pink-lilac for fish and octopus. I have found patterns I can adept in the net, but I will have to do extra shifts with knitting, or summer will be over- unfortunately the season of fish is summer!
Hubby is very considerate- he bought a blueberry pie for sister's visit. I hope they will leave a slice for daughter's early morning breakfast! Sister's husband is tall and skinny as a rake, but never show him cake, or he will forget about manners and eat not for two, but three...
We just got an invitation for Xaver's birthday- he wants to dine at the Schnitzelwirt. Xaver loves Wiener Schnitzel, but all he gets is hospital food, McDonalds and broccoli. And BBQ now and then, when the family has visitors. Another mummy who does not love cooking! BTW, I also won't do much cooking tomorrow. I did asparagus cream soup in advance, using stock and what was left of the asparagus we had for lunch today. Hubby will do cheese sandwiches a la Food Wishes. I really like those! This cooking vlog is also so much fun to watch!
And now it´s on to knitting, but before I have to decide which fish will make it onto the sweater!
