Jul. 10th, 2023 07:33 pm Our beloved daily for naive people is warning of a heat wave of epic proportions. This one is so Vienna-orientated, that it would not even notice if the other federal states would turn their back on the capital and desert to Germany (which would not be wise) or establish a state of their own (wiser maybe). Hot- hotter- hottest is all we get to read- okay, we made it to 30 degrees in the late afternoon, but we did not accomplish a tropical night. Hubby drove to the shop to buy a slide for our youngsters in case they need more fun at granddad's abode- especially Cassian, because Flavius is too young to do slides, and Oscar and Xaver aren't allowed water slides and the like until this weekend, when they will depart for Croatia. Son says that he needs one holiday without a child being sick on the day of departure and infecting the rest of the family when abroad. I say welcome to real life, I think hubby and I never made it, but good luck to him! Hubby put the slide together, I served coffee and cake- and then we ran. Newspaper, towels, garden chairs took off without a warning. The thunderstorm that we were told to expect in the afternoon came early, before lunch even, and it was more storm than thunder. Soon after sun was back, but I was resting in the studio then, knitting work in plain sight, so that I would not forget about adding a few rows. Maybe I should bring the workbasket to the livingroom when on early driving duty- with me always being wide awake after return half an hour of knitting duty would render me tired enough to add two more hours of sleeping to the four I´d already had, until I had to get up. And now we sit and wait for the next thunderstorm, which might intervene in the heat wave I call summer. Weather app says it will arrive aroud nine in the evening. I am ready for it!
