Sweat-inducing

 ... not only because it was hot outside today (35 degrees), but because two young gentlemen were here for a visit- without mama, as usual. It was not so bad, when they were out in the pool. Of course, you have to be watchful all the time. It got hectic, when I had to do lunch- after I managed to get back into the house, since Cassian locked me and Flavius out on the terrace then joined hubby, who was listening to a Brahms symphony performed by his ex colleagues. That man is deaf as a post, because he did not hear the doorbell for quite a while. Flavius took revenge on his brother by jamming Cassian's thumb in the terrace door soon after. Dramatic howling got stopped by a piece of chocolate, then, finally, lunch (those boys can eat!) and after lunch the worst part was yet to come, or so we thought. Turned out that Flavius fell asleep on the sofa, before Cassian even made it to the bedroom, where he was out like a light a few minutes later. Both slept for almost two hours, then we were back to frolicking in the pool. The tiny water slide is a hit! But you have to be quick leading one child towards the steps of the pool while number two is already coming down the slide! Since mummy was not here, both children had cake as well as icecream. With mummy it would have been either-or. The children got picked up at six by their parents and surely were in bed soon after, tired as they were when they had to leave. Meanwhile daughter had arrived for Maxi (mama taxi) in the morning. Her ride aka colleague who lives nearby has called in sick. No problem, I had a restful sleep last night despite the too warm temperatures in the bedroom!
