Oh, those weatherforecasts!
Jul. 19th, 2023 06:30 pm Just read the actual one, which says that we're supposed to get thunderstorms around one in the afternoon. Aha! Then why did I wake to real loud claps of thunder and read the severe weather alert on my mobile? Those alerts try to frighten the hell out of us- code red, code violet- and then next to nothing. Well, not exactly nothing, we got about ten very loud clashes of thunder and half an hour hour of heavy rain. And after one hour- repeat. We've had thunderstorms all night long. This explosive weather situation started yesterday in the afternoon and will last until Saturday. One thunderstorm after another, always very short ones, plenty of rain, and a few hours of sunshine in the early afternoon, which will keep temperatures high- we have 28 at the momenzt, and it feels horrible on the skin because of all the wetness!
Tomorrow the boys will be here again. Mummy needs some time for painting- that´s okay, it´s her job to paint and sell what she has created, only that the latter needs some upgrading! When the boys are here, we are rather strict when Cassian uses swearwords, words he picked up in kindergarten. For instance, we forbid him to say scheiße (shit) but make use of the word Scheibenkleister instead. It did not work the way it's supposed to, because now the boy blares Scheißekleister when in need of swearing. Not that much better, I'd say! But Cassian's last word creation had us in stitches. Grandson had a best friend in kindergarten- Julia, six years old and called Lulia by all children. Lulia is not a nice name, because it involves luli= pee. Hubby worked really hard to make Cassian speak his friend's name correctly. Yesterday evening family number two came for a short visit in the evening, bringing us ice cream from the ice-cream parlour. It was DiL's birthday- thank you, FB, for not warning me but hubby only, who barely reads the messages! Hubby managed to print out an Amazon voucher, I snatched some roses from neighbour's garden and all got attached to a bottle of prosecco. I must have shouted hallelujah just when Cassian entered. I guess you can figure out what happened then: hallelulia, hallelulia! Lulia is back, indeed!
