Tidying up...
Aug. 30th, 2023 07:56 pm...a bit. Not too much, because I was tired. Yesterday (or should I say today) I went to bed long after midnight (slept through the prime time programme but watched two crime films afterwards), but had to get up early- chimney sweep day! The poor lad had a hard time to get to the chimney, because hubby has started to glue the styrofoam to the wood and fill the gaps with foam. Chimney sweeper found a puddle of water that had found a way through the roof on a plastic sheet, which hubby promptly poored onto the rug when he brought the sheet down. I spent the morning tidying the sleeping room and the mini studio. Especially the last room looked as if a tornsdo had hit- that's me, when I have to prepare for a family event. Clothes and hand-bsgs are stored agsin, half of my cosmetics are in the bin now- I won't keep what I do not use. And in another LJ I found a new way to store wool and yarns and crafting utensils. Now I also have to search for a new shelf and decorative boxes, when I haven't yet found a second-hand Malm dresser!
Lunch got done by husband mine, and it tasted fabulous! We had pasta with salsiccia-mushroom sauce. Very spicy because of additional chillies, but so good! After lunch hubby and I did more jigsaw puzzling, because I wanted that darn thing finally gone from the conservatory table. I did not know when daughter mine would come to the rescue. Turned out that she came the moment I decided to do an afternoon nap. Bye, bye nap- and bye, bye jigsaw puzzle!

I do not know how daughter does it, but she has a hawk's eyes when it comes to picking out the fitting piece from a sea of puzzle pieces. We did another batch of peach fritters then- daughter's favourite dessert. Now I feel the after-effects of last night- will go to bed early, because last early-shift-taxi for good and all. Daughter did not renew her working contract. Too much stress, she says. Yes, strange things have been going on at the airport: a lot of technical problems like baggage carousels not working each morning for one hour, crashing computers, safety alerts when there was no danger - as if higher powers were boycotting the comfortable life of travelling we just have been given back. In this case I do not believe in higher powers but people who think that a lot of things we have taken for granted better be taken from us, before our climate crashes. So tomorrow morning we will have our last three o'clock coffee, before we will jump into the car. I will miss those nightly trips, because we had such funny conversations on the way to the airport!
