Bad, bad beans!
Aug. 31st, 2023 07:55 pm I got a veritable shock at three in the morning, when I turned the coffee machine on- and it did grind a bit, but no coffee but brownish water only made it into my cup. Tried again, then the machine discontinued the oroduction of another cup. Next try- at least now I got something similar to coffee, which I drank in my panic. Daughter´s coffee was a tad more caffeinated. Still no error message, which gave me hope. Hubby thinks it has been the new brand of coffee I had poured in the evening before. Maybe the grinding process has to be tuned anew...
Tidying the conservatory is no fun. You never know when you will meet a spider. For me first spider is the last spider of the day. Today it took some time to hear me hollering for hubby to bring the insect spray, and it was not even a big one I wanted to kill. Hubby put it into a jar and carried it down the road to the field. Bye, bye, little pest! I managed the dire process of wrecking the jigsaw in less than half an hour- for further use we separate the border stones from the rest, which takes some time. Then I sorted the seat cushions out, put them into a bag and brought them to our animal sanctuary, together with a set of old towels. They always need such things, since a lot of people brought cats and dogs to their home at the beginning of Covid and promptly brought them back, when Covid was declared a normal infectious disease, they had to go back to office and prices for pet food began to rise. Apropos Covid- an acquaintance told me that she had felt tired and had a sore throat then got a slight cough, and that she had tested positive. In return I told her that I had had a light cough and a sore throat after the wedding, too. And that I have not tested, because I won´t feed the statistics and give our health minister any ideas! When sick I simply stay at home and do not get in contact with vulnerable people. Though, to be honest, it´s me who is the vulnerable one...
Weather was much better today, we finally made it up to 18 degrees, with only a tiny bit of rain in the morning. Tomorrow we will go up to twenty and maybe a bit higher! What a luxury for the first day of September! Do I have to reactivate my bathing suit? I think not, when nights are still down to 12 degrees...
