Places to return
Sep. 26th, 2023 07:35 pmI am pretty sure that all people have places they would love to revisit, be it near, be it far away. I have mine, too. One of them has been a villa in Bucharest. When first-time visiting the town the house was a bit out of style, but the food was great and the exterior lovely. One year later, at son's marriage, our family stayed there again. Most of the guest rooms had gotten an update, a quite impressive one even, the food was still great as was the exterior. My sister, who hadn't been able to book a room in the villa, was very envious. We both so love dining under huge trees! At Flavius's Orthodox christening we stayed at home, hubby not willing to risk an infection with Corona. I for my part would have loved to join the party, but not without husband. DiL sent me pictures of the celebration at the villa's restaurant afterwards- still the same trees, the same splendid food, though none of the guests stayed overnight this time. Today, when I was not able to sleep, I took my mobile and opened FB. A red sign popped up all of a sudden. I looked at the notification- the villa is no more. Well, technically it is still there, but it's now the seat of a Vietnamese company selling ugly shoes which look like crocs but aren't. So one place less to revisit now...
We picked Cassian up from kindergarten but decided to go to our house first, to have lunch and after-lunch napping. Otherwise we'd have a very sleepy boy in his seat, and Cassian can turn into a little monster when woken up from napping early! Mine were not so different except for number five, who indeed did need no sleeping during day as soon as she'd had her second birthday. Besides, Cassian loves mushrooms, and there was still risotto left from yesterday. And there was fried chicken, too! The boy was like a tornado in the shops (three of them)- we never knew into which direction he would radiate. Blessedly hubby is a quick runner while I am not. The trolley was filled to the brim when we left the shops. The hell will I tell the boy that we haven't gotten all items needed- all I will buy from now on is pumpkins. Now I'd love to know whereto all those nice little stands have vanished, where we were able to buy pumpkins to a reasonable price. In the shops we have to pay almost three Euro per kilo now. Still wondering how much of the price is because of the tiny word bio...
