Hubby and I were up early, because we had planned to do a tour to Germany for goose shopping. We will have guests on Saturday- St.Martin´s Day, and hubby wants me to serve goose. A former colleague sells geese already portioned- we need four breast pieces and two legs. No way I´d buy two geese to cater my guests, and geese with four breasts aren´t available yet. Problem was that there had been controlling at the German border- they push those refugees back, who came into our country via Hungary, did not get caught at the border and want to get into Germany now. So it was tedious affair to get to the place we needed to go. And it was up the mountains, too! I do not like those narrow, winding streets that lead you up the hills, but when finally there, the view was gorgeous! On the way back we went to Aldi for fruits and vegetables- definitely cheaper than in Austria. Since we came home later than expected I was no more able to defrost minced meat in time, which means without the help of warm water or the microwave. So I did topfennockerl much to hubby´s delight. You just wait- you made a grave mistake by opening up the can with pineapple- there´s plenty of the content left, so tomorrow it will be sweet-and-sour chicken. I already checked the ingredients I will need- no trip to the shop necessary!
I started reading "Von Bienen, Drohnen und Baronen" during night. Partly amusing, partly not. The amusing parts are the dangerous ones, when I start laughing under the duvet and wake hubby. I fear I will have to swap the reading material. But no going back to Ulysses- I have had enough of falling asleep during reading and getting whacked by my tablet PC!
Crocheting was a disaster today- I had to undo almost two rows of 160 treble crochets, because I detected a major mistake. Redid the rows- but I should have looked ten centimetres to the left, because there was the next huge mistake I had made. Back to the beginning of row six it was... That definitely cost me a lot of working time! Five more rows of the pattern of horror to do, then I will be back to safe terrain. Huzzah!

I still think it might turn into a nice throw...

Weather was sunny and warm, but in the afternoon it gets pretty cool very quickly. At five in the afternoon we were down to six degrees, and tomorrow there will be rain. Good that hubby and I did trim our tallest acorn today. The Japanese cherry needs more cutting, too. This tree is sick and needs a thorough thinning out. Only that hubby has destroyed all of our saws, and we are talking about fairly thick branches...
BTW, today the angle grinder hubby had bought in April died a sudden death. At least this one is still under guarantee. Don´t know what´s up at the moment- not a day without a gadget or tool breaking down!
