Monster weave mastered
Nov. 7th, 2023 06:07 pm I did the last row of the weave just now and am halfway through the main pattern of the throw. So far so good, the rest of the main body will be much easier to do, save for the crab stitch. But that´s one row only! No more crocheting today, it´s only seventeen degrees in the studio, and I do not need a cold. Bad enough that husband mine already spreads his germs all over the house! Besides, it was pitch dark at four thirty- yay, it´s raining again, but seven degrees are not so bad for early November. It will get warmer anyway, so no need to bring the palm trees in, they are in a place sheltered from wind and rain, which is better than a conservatory which heats up too much during sunny days.
When I put the double ration of rice into the rice cooker, hubby got nervous about tomorrow´s menu, and when I opened the door of the fridge, I knew why! Once again he had found sausages, which are near expiring. Hubby buys what hubby wants to eat, but a big no this time- tomorrow we will have green beans and minced meat Szechuan style. Of course, only after I have returned from shopping in Germany- number four has announced his coming for Friday, and he needs toiletries which are still cheaoer than here. If he can go back home at all- his job has turned into some sort of nightmare, since the new boss has dismissed half of his co-workers and replaced only half of them by new staff. Because number four decided to continue with his studies, he mostly has to work on weekends now- all of them since that happened, because the boss has not thought that his workers might get sick now and then. I told hubby that in case son had to work, we would have to do a trip to Graz, but not this weekend- although hubby has contacted the car repair shop six weeks ago, the date for changing to snow tyres will be next week only! That´s why I will do the trip to Germany tomorrow, the warmest day of the week. That´s exactly why I had wanted all-weather tyres for my car. If it´s too cold and snowy, we would still have hubby´s car to drive with. Of course, those tyres are not common here, but I had more snow and ice during winter on NZ´s South Island than the last winters I spent at home! Too bad that my friend cannot accompany me- we wanted to do the trip together, but she has granddaughter duty this week (the one with the broken leg). We intended to visit one or more of those huge garden centres there, to buy some decoration for Christmas. Maybe next week then...
