Almost done
Jan. 15th, 2024 06:36 pm Save for the baubles and figures on the Christmas tree everything Christmassy is boxed and in the cellar. Tree will have to wait- still too cold in the conservatory. The lemon trees like the climate and are blooming, me not so. I tested the tree´s needles- still fresh and green, so no worry for my part.
A friend is back from the hospital, she has undergone disc surgery. Hopefully she will be up and running soon, the two of us have a lot of gossiping to do! She is having similar problems with her daughter-in-law, who dumps her three!!! children at her house then does prolonged shopping tours with a friend. Then there´s the thing with the two upcoming birthdays in the neighbourhood. Both ladies have been present at my birthday celebration, so they expect me to come to theirs in return. No problem with the younger of the two, but what do you get as a present for a lady who does not read, does not eat (oesophagus cancer) and can neither smell nor taste?
Though we had snow today and some of the streets were slippery, I have done a tiny shopping tour to a local garden centre in the morning. No new plants, but plant protection agents (two plants have spider mites and mealybugs and are confined to the shower cubicle at the moment), potting compost and seeds. Pepper- and chilli have to be sowed in February and will live on the bathroom´s windowsill for a while. Hopefully weather will be warmer then! Last year I sowed in April- too late for satisfactory harvesting! Orchids will get rehoused from the upper bathroom to the studio for some time. And I was so happy to have them out of the room!
Instead of napping I made myself comfortable in the studio and turned TV on. For a while I wondered about the strange documentary done by a male speaker and a lady, whose voice sounded as if KI generated. Turned out that I must have hit the button for audio channel for blind people. What I wonder is- what do blind people do with the information that the farmgirl wears a red dirndl with corresponding hair band? So odd!
