One family off, another lying in wait...
May. 27th, 2024 05:59 pm It is too warm outside for me to do more than water the plants then return inside. Mind you- I like warm in Summer. And it´s almost summer here! But the general wetness in the air drives hubby as well as me crazy. At least, hubby has mowed the lawn, which resembled a jungle for ticks and whatever insects no one wants, no matter how often we get told by fanciers of the Green Party that we have to keep all those critters alive. Tomorrow I will start excavating the first of many huge patches of daisies amidst the lawn and saw lawn seed. Once again I will ignore the cry for more bee feed- on the other side of the fence is a property which has not seen a mower in years, so enough flowers to feed Your Laziness- though this year´s blossoming of fruit trees some bees must have been on work schedule at least. There are apples on the tree!
Husband bought raspberries for jam. We are now up to fourteen small jars of freshly made jam and still have at least twenty from last year. And there´s more to come- after the strawberries and raspberries there´ll be cherries, currants, blueberries and elderberries, not to forget about peaches and mangoes. Our grandchildren will be happy, while I am not. The sweet smell all over the house, when hubby is doing his jam sessions, makes me sort of sick.
Family number two has left for Munich airport for the two-week holiday in Tunisia. Before they left hubby brought the boys to our house, where they ate chocolate, cookies, raspberries and a mango- I seriously hope that they won´t get sick during flight! From now on either hubby or I will have to drive to their house in the evening, to water the plants and confine Samsung and Sony to the upper bathroom during night. Florence, son´s tenant, will let them out in the morning. Cats are used to this proceeding, so no need to worry! It´s mostly because the commune has a very active huntsman, who lives nearby and does not love cats in the wild!
