Change of plans
Aug. 29th, 2024 06:33 pm Daughter won't come today- she had to call in sick from work. The worst part was to find a doctor, who'd give her an attest- the airport demands one from day one. Not so easy when one is vomiting and doing other things all around the clock. Finally she found a doctor just around the corner, got her attest, picked up her prescription and went back to bed. Needless to say that we are not so keen to see daughter until she's cured- neither hubby nor I need gastroenteritis! This also means that there's one more day with uninterrupted sleep for me save for tours to the loo!
Last evening was sort of fun- I went to bed, read the weather forecast (warm, sunny, no thunderstorms), had a look at the weather radar- and ten minutes later I heard the first clash of thunder. So I got up again, tidied the table on the terrace and brought in the towels. Ten more minutes, and it was raining cats and dogs. Weather radar is for the birds. Since daughter did not come we opted for meat strudel out of our freezer. Our butcher does a really good one, and in the evening sells it half price. We often will freeze some for lazy lunch. It's indeed a lazy day for hubby and me- lots of reading and frolicking in the pool. Not long now, and we will have to say goodbye to it. If only those darn hills and mountains would be off, let´s say twenty kilometres- enough to have more sun in the evening!
Hubby made it clear that he´d pick the boys up around tomorrow´s lunchtime. They will stay overnight, and it´s hubby who has to relocate to the guestroom with Flavius. On Saturday the whole family number two got invited for lunch. Well, not by me... Good thing on Saturday is that hubby will be off for another concert in the evening- more time for me to watch the TV or Blu-ray programme of my choice!
