Daughter came one day early, because today was election day, and she has to vote at her primary residence. Hubby was on pin and needles all afternoon- he feared that the Austrian Freedom party was on the win. Or the Socialists with a sworn Marxist as party leader- he openly attacked Mateschitz of Red Bull, one of the few of the big firms who pay tax in Austria. One who has donated four million euro to the victims of the floods. Oh dear...
It was bound to happen- the Freedom party has won the race. And now we wait what will happen- the Federal President has already announced that he will not swear the Freedom Party in. I see hard times coming upon the country!
Even if we had a day with sunshine from morning till evening we never made it over 13 degrees, yet hubby thought that leaving the terrace door open was a good idea- until I showed him the eighteen degrees the thermometer in the living room was showing. Door got closed immediately, hubby brought in kindling and wood briquettes. Will not be long and we´ll have a fire burning! Since I had turned the washing machine on (lots of towels, dishcloths and two sets of bedding straight from daughter´s flat, looks like as if she isn´t able to do the washing herself, but it´s only because there´s not enough space to hang it in the tiny flat!. Daughter and I circumvented the too cool living room and spent the afternoon in the conservatory, basking in sunlight and warm temperatures while continuing with the jigsaw. This one is an easy one, so daughter thinks, too. Tomorrow after my visit to the dentist we will continue jigsawing...
BTW, hubby lured me to change my cooking plan for today- I sent him to the cellar to bring the dried mushrooms for risotto with fried chicken. What hubby brought was a can with Chinese mushrooms mixed with soybean sprouts. So I had to change the menue plan from Italian to Asian. Only when the can got opened hubby finally found the dried mushrooms but declared that it was about time to consume the Chinese version anyway. That´s when I picked the doenjang out of the fridge and generously spread it over the chicken- I do not like canned msuhrooms, and hubby hates Korean soybean paste. Revenge is sweet- the cooking war is going on for too long already, and it´s almost always my husband who comes out as winner!
