It's getting serious
Dec. 1st, 2024 06:15 pm For the third time in a row I woke way too early after a disturbing dream. The dream was not the worst part, but in my mouth I found residues of my teeth- I have started grinding them during sleep again, and how! I had nightguards once, pretty expensive and practically undestroyable, so the dentist said. Only that one night I managed to bite on them too hard and long and the upper one fell apart, and I almost swallowed it. I won't have another one, of this I am sure- I almost suffocated. Done in by a nightguard, what a bummer! Maybe some horror-free dreams are in order to have me grind my teeth less.
Today was Bratwurstsonntag. Hubby has bought sausages for at least six persons but was nice enough to not invite family number two. Might have been because we did the Don´t you Dare game. Nobody told my mum about this tradition- frying Bratwürste in an acceptable way seems like a goal she might have achieved. I loved my mum, still love her, but cooking was not her forte. Crafting, drawing, tailoring yes, but cooking? Oh dear! After lunch temperatures, which had been up to four in the morning, dropped quickly, and at four in the afternoon we were down to zero, at six at minus three. Once again the demise of the temperature control of our heating, now by-passed by hubby´s timer switch, leaves the groundfloor fairly warm and the upper bedrooms cold. At least tomorrow we got promised a sunny day with ten degrees. I only hope that fog won´t act as a spoilsport again! Hubby was brave and went out into the cold. Drove to number two´s house, brought Cassian and Flavius Advent calendars then drove back home, doing a detour to a nearby Christkindl market. I did not even know that it was Martin Luther who gave us the Christkind, replacing St. Nicolas as the bringer of gifts. Now that backfired phenomenally, when from beyond the ocean a well-fed Santa made it back to our country and tried to take over! Uproar all over the country, and creative signs appearing on the Christmas markets. Please, do tell your children that Christmas is about the birth of Jesus, no more, no less, that´s what counts!
I did one batch of cookies only today. Husarenkrapferl- sugar in the dough and the jam, just the way hubby likes it. Maybe the coming week cookie baking virus will strike. At least I hope so. Hubby is already getting nervous!
