Hubby opened the last champagne we had in the basement when sis was here. Daughter, sis and I only sipped a tiny bit- we were supposed to drive. Third of the bottle spent two nights in the fridge, and hubby wanted to pour it away this morning. I protested, wanted to process it. So today we had champagner soup with fried prawns- fabulous! Soup will get a repeat!
Hubby insisted on washing all the bedding (four sets of them) at one time in the morning. The living room is infested (invested?) with drying racks, so I retreated to the upper rooms. My back was protesting after making four sets of beds. That´s our arrangement: I will strip the old and put on the fresh linens, hubby will do the washing and hang it up. Afterwards I fell onto my bed to do a short nap, which is hard to do, when a former student is bombarding you with dire news about her father´s company- are there news about companies that aren´t dire at the moment??? So said student will come for a visit tomorrow late afternoon, when she has finished work. Cassian and Flavius will have to stick to their grandfather for a (long) while. This former student is like a burdock- once she manages to stick to you she won´t go off. Well, once this visit is done, I will make myself scarce to her for the next weeks, or better, months, if possible...
Hubby is definitely behaving like a defiant child. The meal I bought for yesterday´s lunch will not get eaten by him, he prefers toast with cheese and ham. I was so very tempted to discard the pizza then remembered that this would go against my goals- process things when still edible. The second goal I had to circumvent- do not eat after five. I had to admit defeat- I ate the pizza. Let hubby rejoice- next time I will only pick a lunch for myself! Stubborn people will have to make their own meals on such occasions from now on! Guess hubby will have to stock up on pizza sauce and ham. Let´s not talk about the bacon, of which we have way too much in the house!
Tomorrow will be my father´s 96th birthday. Only that he died 23 years ago. With the boys in the house I can either go to the cemetary early or do it another day- pa certainly will not complain! Besides, one does not have to go to the cemetary to remember a person. Then there´s sister mine, to whom the grave belongs and who lives a ten minutes´ walk from it, while I need 15 minutes for the drive alone. Go, sister mine, go...
