Christmas lights are finally boxed, save for the one at the entry door (too pretty) and the one lining the carport (safety measure against breaking in). Inside there's still Christmas, as is use in households that go with Candlemas as the last day of the Christmas cycle. The boys will help with storing baubles and the like from tomorrow on. At least, they will be busy...
The winds have woken me more than once during night- we got foehn, and temperatures are unnaturally high for January. Now most people I know (most of them retired) have drastically cut down the ways done by car. Not only because it's gotten more expensive and taking a bus is easier, but because getting older also means getting less involved in an interesting life. If our Greens will have a say ( which I hope they won't) personal tours by car shall get curbed even more. What I ask myself is- the numbers of old people who are already cutting down on driving are rising. The numbers of young people, a part of them possessing only bikes, are slowly dwindling. Working class is forced to switch to public transport ( less parking space wherever you look, fuel expensive, e- cars, too) so who the hell is responsible for the increase of CO2, which causes the high temperatures? I am aware that Austria is a transit country along the route between the cool North and the therefore much loved hot South. But I do not want to be made to pay for this!
I did a trip to the cemetery with a pot of christ roses in the morning. Even bought a bunch of Christmas decoration at a third of the regular price at the shop. At the cemetery I got a message from number two- we are to pick up a fried chicken and turkey fillet from the family's fridge. I had a hard time to contain the laughing fit inside me. Laughing fits at a cemetery are not at all proper. But usually it's hubby who turns my menue plan upside down- this time it was son who did the same with hubby's planning! Serves him right!
Only that hubby got the message only when I was back home, because his mobile is dead, and the new one he bought not yet functioning.
Hubby left at twelve to pick up the boys. From then on typing an entry was hard, because with the two in the house both hubby and I were having a hard time doing even the most important chores. Then there was my former student, who came at four thirty and did not want to leave. Only when hubby sent the boys to brush their teeth seven she reacted and left. I dragged myself up to the bedroom, we watched a short video together, then Cassian was in bed and out like a light. His brother was a different case, as always...
