I must be jinxed
Mar. 9th, 2025 05:55 pm Such a wonderful day I thought- hubby and I made short work of house cleaning by dividing the chores, weather was splendid, no cooking had to be done because hubby dined out with retired colleagues and one of their former music directors, and I ate what we had been given by DiL (roast pork with dumplings). Had a short nap afterwards then went down to do DVD watching- at least I intended so. It took me a long time until I remembered how to procede, but finally the movie started- for about half an hour. Then all of a sudden the sound got muted. I tried another movie- same result. I checked the ports- no success. TV sound is okay, so it has to be the player which is defect. That's so typical- apparently I am not allowed to watch films I like during those short periods of time I am at home alone. It's not that hubby will hinder me from watching, but his PC is constantly on, so that he can watch those crime stories he missed the day before because of going to bed early. Or he watches the latest lapses of the rabid carrot, his watchdog, autistic idiots and reports about rabid garden gnomes located in the east. And since hubby's hearing is not the best he does watch full volume. I have to admit that I was quite bored then, so I dragged some plants- the not so heavy ones- into the carport, where they will stay until they are used to direct sunlight again. One or two plants I will give number three, who has space enough and a place where they can stay in winter (the college library). I do not need so much greenery in the conservatory, I need space for doing puzzles or crafting. And building Lego, of course! I continued with bag number six of Diagon Alley, ignoring Cassian´s wish to be present. One bag getting done without the boy will not be the end of the world- hopefully!
My mobile is working, but it's still sick, the screen doing funny things like scrolling down even if I do not intend to scroll, so I spent the rest of the afternoon transferring photos and videos to my PC and an external hard disk drive. Another boring thing I did because the DVD player is in the process of dying. Honestly, do those things always have to conk out together? Not exactly budget-friendly!
