After a night too cold for spring season a Whatsapp message sent by son early in the morning was driving hubby's (and my own) blood pressure up. The family (mum and dad) have booked their flights to Peru. And they have extended their stay. Now the boys will be with us from July 27th to August 21st. Splendid, I'd say. Especially since Elsa will join the two rascals during the last week of their stay. Furthermore, family number three intends to do a three-day-hotel-mama stay, when they are to pick up Elsa. I will have to stock up on downers. For me and hubby, of course.
Today I got up early and started with house cleaning after breakfast. My friend will come over tomorrow for coffee and cake. This friend loves to clean all day long. In her flat one can eat off the floor. When she enters our house one can see her eyes checking for dust. One day I will thrust a duster into her hand, so that she can act out her desire to clean. But gossipping with her is fun...
For lunch I did spring rolls with the most stubborn rice paper I ever had in the house. But I managed to bend it into shape- it only took thrice as long as written in the instruction. Hubby ate six rolls- success, success!
When he was off to the meeting at the town hall I continued with the jigsaw. The air in the conservatory smelled heavenly- both lemon trees are flowering. Alas, as I once said- no bees in the conservatory! Only one rose chafer, which I caught in a glass and set free outside. Pretty creatures they are, but annoying when bustling about! Since the sun had been out today, conservatory was warm enough. We had 10 degrees during day, and twelve we'll get tomorrow, and that's pretty much what we will get for the rest of March. With aberrations of the unwanted sort- there might be a few days with temperatures under ten. And maybe snow around Easter, but this has become custom. Green at Christmas, snowflakes at Easter- it's a strange world we live in!
Sis called and tried to invite herself tomorrow- not a chance that I want her waltz in, when I have a friend here. Since she is so busy with traveling on weekends she will have to postpone. Which she did- she will come on Good Friday- finally wants to meet up with number three's family. Huzza, full house again!
