Never again
Mar. 23rd, 2026 07:17 pm There´s a reason hubby won´t be allowed to do more jigsawing. Never ever! It started with one piece missing, which turned into two of them missing soon after. I was livid. Daughter was livid. Hubby was, well, hubby, denying that he had something to do with the loss. Only that daughter found one piece on the staircase leading to the basement, hubby´s favourite walkway, my most hated. The last time I had been down was on Tuesday last week, to gather toys for the flea market. Today we finished what was left of the jigsaw then started the big search. We even were out in the garden to search the lawn- hubby shakes the crochet blankets out each day. At some point we gave up and started a rescue plan. Did a replica of the missing piece. Found a cardboard that did fit in thickness. Then daughter went upstairs, only that she made it to the cabinet in the outer room only, because there it was- on top, a blue spot among the yellow painting. If I had found a piece of the jigsaw I would have brought it to the conservatory. Immediately- which leaves hubby as the culprit, but, of course... Jigsaw is complete now, my sneezing worse (no wonder after being out in the garden for half an hour), tomorrow I will take a photo and put the pieces back into the box. Conservatory is tidied up, alas, one of the big glass bottles did not survive the search operation, smashed by hubby, of course! Well, one thing less to dust...
No cooking got done today save for a big ration of rice. The Chinese food will last till tomorrow, if not longer. Hubby took a photo which I cannot post- all Whatsapp photos get filed on my phone´s memory card, which has died. Son will try to bring Whatsapp onto my PC, so that I can transfer newer photos to my external hard disk drive. Only then I can put a new memory card in...
In the evening I had a strange phone call with a friend. She recounted her epic walk to a shop- she had parked her car at the parking place of an inn then walked four and a half kilometres to save fuel. At the shop she bought the drying rack she had seen in the leaflet.
Since she was not able to walk back with the rack under her (very short) arms she had to go back to her car then drive to the shop and load it into her vehicle. No fuel saved, a walk of nine kilometres- this lady is a little crazy. I vividly remember her wanderings during times of covid...
Weather was strange today- quite warm at first, but clouded and very windy. Hubby as well as daughter mine complained about weather-induced tiredness. I for my part did not complain. I had been up three times during night, trying to avoid to sneeze hubby out of sleep. Only during the third sneezing fit I remembered that the two of us weren´t the only people in the house...daughter was not amused!
