It gets better from day to day: From tomorrow on another region in Tyrol will get closed off of the rest of the country. But this time they outdid themselves, maybe in a good way! Because the town will get turned into a huge field testing area for Pfizer. The town has higher than average numbers of Covid infections caused by the South African mutation. Goal is to isolate all inhabitants and vaccinate them with Pfizer, which is said to be best against this mutant. And after the last one has taken the vaccine people will be back to normal. Now I wonder if they will try to force vaccination upon those who originally decided against it, which is impossible as long we do not implement compulsory vaccination. Or if those have to stay in quarantine inside the town's borders until field testing is completed. This mutant must not leave town, that's the goal. Funny thing is that it has already spread its wings and sailed eastward. It' s wishful thinking to believe we are able to extinct the virus - this will not happen anytime soon, Covid will stay, has been with us for a very long time, I think, and we did not even notice. I also wonder about the sudden multiplication of a vaccine so rare here. Pfizer sent 100000 doses!!! The rest gets redirected from all across the country, which means that they have now started to vaccinate 80+ - people with Astra Zeneca, the one they had put aside for younger folks. I can hear the cry of outrage right up to my studio. Just as if Astra would kill our oldest ones right away instead of bestowing some more healthy days ( weeks, months, years, you' ll never know)!

Date: 2021-03-03 06:38 pm (UTC)I'm due to my second shot on Saturday. If I vanish from the Internet, it means I've been blown to space by Sputnik like the dog Laika (the first Terran space traveller, back in the 1950s or 1960s; sorry, I don't really remember the time).
