Good morning to you! It is Monday, worst day for those who are still working members of the community. It is ten o´clock and and will be ten thirty until I have brought my sparse skills of English language into shape to be able to post. Outside it has been raining until a few minutes ago, when a first ray of sun made it through the clouds. It is five degrees now, but the worst is over. For the next weekend we will be up to Mayisch temperatures they say. Our swimming pool is ready for use, if you consider putting yourself into a neopren suit or get a bladder infection when using it without protection against the cold. Has been the same last year. Due to Corona boredom hubby had started to scrub the pool clean as a whistle then filled it with fresh water and a good amount of salt. He was sweating profusely when doing so, but not for long. The moment work was done temperatures dropped down to ten degrees, and we had to wait for the first day of bathing until the end of June. Ice saints and their unknown relatives together with Schafskälte (a cold spell around the Middle of June) resulted in seven weeks of refreshing coolness. And now I have to do inspection in the garden, to see if the storm which kept me awake for the most part of the night has done harm. Until now I only found out that the Japanese cherry tree has been stripped of all blossoms, same with the magnolia. My hope is that the blossom of our apple tree have made it through the bad weather, otherwise it might be the second season in a row without those delicious fruits you won´t get in the super market in this quality. Please wish me luck!

It feels so cold here at the moment that I reckon a pool might freeze over if not well salted. Although, truth to tell, it is probably about 7C (in May! ) — but we have a storm here, too, and the wind chill makes it feel cold enough to freeze.

I keep looking out at my plants and am relieved to see they all seem to still be standing.

I love swimming. There have been years when we were able to take a first dip into the pool at the end of April. This year´s climate is odd. Cold, strong winds, and all indoor swimming centres closed thanks to Covid. Plus there will be no trips to the sea for us this year...:((

Good luck! Really tasty apples have become almost unavailable over here; the ones you can get in the supermarket look pretty and are outrageously expensive but in the end they usually taste of water. *sigh* And I so love apples!

These apples are fabulous! Small but tasty, and what I really love is the tartness which most of the apples in the markets are lacking.
