Morning was slightly cloudy, but promised fine weather for the day after a night with thunderstorms- this was what weather forecast told us. Clouds didn´t go away, so a duteous person like me started to prepare lunch in hope that, if weather decided to get better, there´d be more time for frolicking in garden and pool then. Lunch was ready, would get reheated later. Clouds didn´t feel the need to go away. Nevertheless I dressed up for pool and garden. It was cool outside, yet I decided to give the water a try. Water was okay, outside temperatures not. Hubby and I watered the plants then fetched Sudoku and crossword puzzles. Another round in the pool a bit later. Dearest husband brought me a fresh and bigger towel. This game went on until lunch, which we had decided to take on the terrace. Wind was trying to blow the noodles off the fork. Hubby retreated for a nap. I did a bit of crocheting. Oh- here comes the sun! Wow! I jumped into the pool with my inflatable chair, to do pool-napping. I did not nap long when a rumble indicated that the first thunderstorm of the day was on its way. Seat back into the garage, hubby closed the pool- we do this by solar tarp in summer. The moment the pool was closed thunderstorm decided to back off, sun was here again, and it was quite warm all of a sudden! I gave up and began to clean out the guestroom. Clean the bathrooms. Clean the kitchen. Sun still shone. The bad thing with summer is that it is so short here, and that chores won´t resolve themselves. If you live near a hill range near a mountain range you have to either be quick with doing whatever you have to do- or lazy, which is much more satisfying. Today work won over laziness. Bad choice, because tomorrow there will be rain. And more thunderstorms, of course. Just like yesterday. We waited. And waited. Insurance had sent us weather warning. We waited some more. And just before prime time programme started I went to the kitchen to fetch me a glass of wine, did a look out of the window in passing, and oh wow, those lightnings were really impressive! Hubby drove my car into the carport and covered his own with foil, and then we had storm, hail and so much rain that we did no more see our neighbour´s house. After half an hour all was well again. I fear we might play the same game again today. What do those insurances have on their weather radar mine won´t show? Mine signals clear night ahead until three in the morning, while insurance cries weather alert! I don´t get it!
