I think I was quite miffed when family number three finally left our house after vtheir last visit. Apparently me being miffed has encouraged son to fathom how far my being peeved would affect his family´s plans for another visit- today he announced that the three of them would be due for another visit in March. Hubby is ecstatic, I am miffed again, what else. Apparently son will deposit his family at our house and will do some shooting practice with his friend, and hubby and I are to entertain Elsa and daughter-in-law. There´s no way to get out of this, because hubby immediately agreed. Traitor!
Meeting with my sister´s family was fun. I did a cake (no bake, but I did bake the no-bake flan base nonetheless, to get a less crumbly version) which turned out very good, we had prosecco and viewed old photos of our progeny. We will do more photo-viewing next time, there has to be a huge stock of compromising children´s images somewhere in the studio. Not that the studio is a big one, but there are a lot of drawers which need a good tidying!
Baby blanket is finished, now I am doing Elsa´s doll blanket and a caterpillar for the new addition to the family. I will post a photo when everything is done. Have had a hard time listening to the lady who uploaded the video, and reading through the subtitles was outright funny. Oh dear, that´s what you get when you use Youtube translator...

YouTube translator can be hilarious sometimes. *g*
Perhaps if you left hubby home alone with DiL and Elsa he won't immediately agree to another visit so soon?

I was thinking the same about hubby and the family visits :)

It´s indeed annoying, but he loves having people around him. Hubby needs all attention he can get...

Re the subtitling — I watched an hour long recording of a talk a gentleman gave about Tudor London. It was actually rather interesting, but the subtitling for the deaf had clearly been done by a voice recognition programme and was really distracting as chunks of it made no sense at all (For example, I remember 'The Francis can order, also known as the gay fryers' when he spoke about 'The Franciscan order, also known as the grey friars').

It was totally distracting — and it wasn't until I went back to the original Women's Institute site that I realised there were instructions for turning them off!

It is particularly annoying when you watch tutorials. My listening comprehension isn't on top when it comes to English, and I need to understand what those skilled crafters explain, but sometimes the subtitles make it even more complicated.

That´s the way the Youtube translator works... I have to admit I was howling with laughter when reading the instructions on the screen.
