If you are beyond your housework for days now, having been down with a tremendous cold and a cough that still sounds like the barking of Cerberus, you don´t need someone disturbing your thirst for action when you finally are fit enough to resume work. So my vacuum cleaner was running high speed when beloved daughter entered the scene, brandishing  a sheet of paper. "Mom, tell me a bit about "The children of Hurin!" Out went the vauum cleaner, on went the brain, at least the part that is still functioning. What to say, what to say..."What if I die and leave behind lots of scribblings, and I mean lots of....would you take them, organize them, make a book out of them?" "A book? Why?" "Pretend I was a famous author, and there´s a slight chance you´d earn a lot of money by doing this!" "But then I´d take only the really interesting parts of your memos to make a real good book, and the rest ...mom, why are you restarting the vac? I thought you´d help me...oh! Oh!" I knew it! Daughter mine is a smart cookie!

Never read the book. I always thought of Tolkien to be boring.
