Jul. 25th, 2022 07:40 pmDaughter has been to a concert in Vienna, with next to no sleep during her stay there- she spent the night sleeping on the floor in the flat of her friend's boyfriend, who is a typical nerd, playing video games all night long, while the ladies tried to sleep. Not an easy task, when temperatures won't go below 25, and the window at the other end of the flat had to stay closed because of the nerd. Daughter came back by train (hot again), and since tomorrow she has an early shift and stays at our house for sleeping, she wished for ramen as a consolation. We just ate it on the terrace, at 34 degrees. The last real hot day, hopefully not for the rest of the summer. We got weather alert already, saying that there'd be storm and hail. Well, let's see what lies ahead...
The book I am reading is an interesting one- Thinking, fast and slow, by Daniel Kahneman. It took me quite a time to overcome my anxiety of putting too much effort in weighing other solutions to a problem than taking the fastest, easiest ones, which often enough are the wrong ones. I am better at seeing the traps now! The only problem with this book is, that you cannot read it in bed (which I love doing), you need a table and light aplenty, because the print is so tiny! And hubby and Cassian have to be off...
Oh, I almost forgot, hubby will be the one to bring daughter to work, so I will be able to open a bottle of wine and enjoy the warmth of the evening as long as weather lets me do so!
