noadvertisingSon wanted to clear my harddrive, because my PC was running slow these days. So I knew I´d better check my personal data and save them on other data carriers, in case everything crashed, as last time.
I was five minutes into this work when I found some memos I once vowed to not let rest: It had been a rather nasty dispute between two fanfiction writers because of a piece of fanfiction of another author that wasn´t that good ( Yes, it was too much of a fairytale, too dreamy etc., but well-written, and after reading the comments of one of the counterparties I was ready to defend the author because of the atrocity of choice of words flung against a very talented young writer). Those two went at it hammer and tongs. And suddenly both opponents vanished, one of them deleting her acount here on Livejournal and all of her fics (this was the one who advocated the young fic writer), while the other abandoned her blog and, after much swearing that she never would drop her precious fics (which weren´t this good, either) switched to another fandom, where she bores her new audience, and believe me, she is really good at boring the pants off others! Needless to say that she dropped her old fics! The ultimate victim was the young writer, who immediately deleted her fic and never published it again. That makes me sad, because she had talent. To run a fic down because someone doesn´t like the pairing and romance... I´d say Don´t like it, don´t read it, and that´s it!
See, a few minutes of research, and I was able to keep track of what happened to those brawlers! Now onward with data checking, I wonder what I´ll come across next!
