Today hubby and I braved most of the outdoor decorations. A lot of it ended it the bin- organic waste and the regular one. I had not noticed how much rain had made it onto the table in front of the kitchen window, but the lantern had lots of mold on it, the sleigh has happily rusted away, the walnuts were moldy as well as the rest of the organic decoration. Will have to start anew next November :( Thanks to hubby all of the baubles on the trees are off now and boxed. Very glad about it, because they make a lot of noise during strong winds.
From outside to inside the house: I almost smashed the Lego we built yesterday by tearing off one of the branches of the prickly tree whose name I´ll never be able to recall, when I tried to remove the glittery garland hubby had literally thrown on it. The branch landed on the Chamber of Secrets, blessedly not ruining it. That would have been vile, because I am no great Lego builder but will need Cassian´s help- at least that´s what he says. He must have forgotten that it had been he who created the bouncy snapes, when he put some pieces to the wrong position. It was fun to see the snapes jump out of their hiding place, but less to have to look for them on the carpet. Those snapes are pretty but not exactly big!
Lunch was another what-has-to-be out-of-the-freezer-will-land-on-your-plate affair, before hubby left to buy a new battery for my car. He had the old one tested- it might or might not hold for a few months. The might-not led to the purchase of the new battery- there are a few early shifts for daughter mine looming, and husband prefers to stay in bed instead of doing speed-dressing in case my car won´t start- I still don´t do stick cars, and hubby´s is one of those!
In the afternoon the art nouveau lamp got relocated. I am not sure if this is a safe place- we still need a new coffee table, the old, too big one is in the conservatory, the one we have now (from the conservatory) is too small, and the lamp is located straight above it. Husband mine is a busy bee, he will swarm around all day long and only sit down on the couch in the evening next- that´s when he is fully pooped, which unfotunately goes hand in hand with less brain activity. Hence the danger of killing the lamp is not fully fended.
All in all it´s been a productive day, I even managed to glue the wooden cutlery ray together- it suffered from an excess of spoons mostly! Got remedied this afternoon- the old cutlery is to be found on theserving trolley, in an old shaker I won´t need anymore- the days of shaking are over!
