That´s a novum- today I voluntarily got up at five thirty, because I was no more able to sleep. I made a cup of coffee and studied the newspaper (in the tube today), until hubby showed up and we had breakfast. My goal for today was to build the glass cases I had bought at IKEA. But at ten in the morning DiL 2 called- she said that she did not feel well and wanted us to take the boys. Hubby agreed that he´d pick them up at kindergarten, we´d have them in the afternoon and would bring them back home in the early evening. Not exactly what DiL had in mind- she wanted an overnight stay for them. Hubby had to decline- daughter will sleep at our house this night and I will bring her to her early shift, which always means a lot of back and forth and a droning coffee machine. If DiL thinks that we will take the boys each time her husband has to work late, which is quite often, she´ll bite on granite. That´s her boys, and she has to supervise them instead of being lazy. Lunch was spaghetti and tiny meatballs in lemon sauce. Cassian and Flavius loved it! Then I did another Lego package with the older of the two, before the younger banged at the conservatory doors so hard that we had to stop. Daughter had brought apple cake, and after a round of coffee, cake and crossword puzzles we finally started the setup of the IKEA glass cases. Oh dear! Now I know why I gave IKEA a wide berth for so many years. Missing screws, bad instruction... At least we were able to finish the project, because hubby had compensatory screws!
Tomorrow I will have to do a thorough cleaning of all the glass cases and reorganise their content, but only after a long, well-earned sleeping in- because two days in a row being up early might be the death of mine!
