Second day...

noadvertising ...after daughter's second early shift. One more to go... and Sunday morning circle will start anew. I wish there'd be a better way, but it's either me or a cab- daughter does not have a driving license, hence she can't even take my car. She says she'll start driving lessons after Japan. Ha! I do not believe her, she is so not the type for driving! Always relied on bus and train, and if need be, her bike. Today hubby and I did another overhaul of the backside of the garden. Perennials are going to DiL 2. Hubby wants lawn only. Not much going on there concerning fruits. Elder tree has not flowered- hubby has cut it at the wrong time. No blackberries either, no cherry plums, no quinces. I think that I will cut down most of those trees. Something has to be seriously wrong with them- this year we did not even have relapse to winter in spring, so no excuses! But we'll have grapes aplenty, if we can keep the wasps from munching them!
I picked daughter up at one then prepared lunch with her- fried salmon on top of spaghetti in lemon sauce. That's the taste of summer for me! Daughter and I took a lengthy nap followed by a swim followed by more terrace scrubbing. I fear we will have to do a lot of scrubbing to get that darn dark cement grout film off the tiles! Then- finally!- hubby removed the plastic cover from the old but beloved sofa and did a first repose on the terrace, while daughter and I continued with the jigsaw.
After being not very successful with jigsawing I added a few rows to granddaughter's cardigan- yes, I decided on killing the last candy-coloured wool for it, I only hope that the cardigan will be finished, when the family visits in July. Then I tore open the windows to let the rapidly cooling air in. At the moment temperatures climb up to nice 27 degrees during day, but the nights are cool- we had ten degrees only in the morning! Decent enough for a good night's sleep- if only I'd be able to sleep!
