That was quite a thunderstorm we had yesterday evening- a lot of lightening, thunder rattling the windowpanes, strong winds (finally) and hubby storming out onto the terrace, running down the outdoor chairs to bring the carpets into the safety of the living room. And all the while Inspector Barnaby tried to solve a murder mystery- hard to do among all the ruckus!
I got up late, contrary to husband mine, who was pottering around at seven. He was off to the DIY market at nine for a new valve. Came back with a valve that did not fit, sadly without antique wax for the wooden bench in the conservatory. Went back to the market for some adapter, came back without wax again. After lunch hubby wanted to take the radiator down to test it for leakproofness. It turned out that by screwing in the wrong valve he had destroyed it. I was so mad and told him to start with maltreating Lego from now on, where he'd be able to order replacement without problems. And also without being able to destroy a functional heating system because of personal boredom. Besides, the radiator had been a designer one. New ones that won´t look like the ordinary, fugly ones cost a lot and will take some time to get. Time we don´t have, if the weather turns to real autumn and we need to turn the heating on- today it was only 14 degrees during day, so this might happen sooner than expected! Oh, those wannabe professionals! I was so mad that I crocheted a whole ball of wool and ate one whole bar of chocolate. Not even a talk with a friend could calm me, especially since said friend´s ex had dealed with radiators and the like and she constantly reminded me of this fact. Instead of taking an after-lunch nap I sorted slides, binning most of my life as a youth. Only kept a few that showed me as a toddler. There´s three big boxes more to go through and four smaller ones. In the afternoon hubby finally came back with the antique wax I ordered the day before. Maybe he thought that keeping me snowed under with work would keep him safe for a while!
I also had a Whatsapp chat with daughter mine. They will go to the Universal studios tomorrow- that girl takes after me, I think. Never growing up completely! I am looking for the pictures she has promised to send! Sadly we have next to no pictures of the Universal studios in Orlando to compare with- no clue why. Well, maybe daughter or son have some, but they do not share willingly, never have!
