...menue for Sunday was to be deer ragout with dumplings for deer-lovers and risotto for me and the boys. Only that the three of us had risotto this Saturday evening, when hubby was at the neighbour- the moment Cassian sees risotto rice no one will stop him from having the dish (good that I hid the sushi rice, because he loves sushi even more, and sushi means more work to do). Poor hubby will have to do more dumplings tomorrow, I will do gorgonzola sauce for those who won't have deer ragout. Never have known children who love gorgonzola so much. I hope that the crater in my mouth will tolerate the cheese, because dentist warned me not to have some during the first days. Technically we'll be on day six then, so...
Back to my day now: I put fresh linen on the marital bed and the guestbed in the studio. Hubby insists that the boys use the last now- gone are the days, when husband and Flavius stayed the night in the guestroom and I had the big bed for me alone, if only for one night. So it will be up to getting up at seven or earlier even- Flavius won't stay in bed as long as Cassian is used to- having to go to school does wonders to sleeping habits! The older of the two would only ask for my tablet PC and retreat to the guestbed, to watch silly videos. Flavius wreaks havoc when confined to bed. I did not even know how much havoc such a small person can do when unwilling to stay in bed!
DiL brought the boys when the younger had ended his nap- early of course, because she always needs lots of time for putting on make-up and dressing and re-dressing, before she has found what suits her best. Remembering the sparse times I did go out it was more a tear the wardrobe open, dress up in the next best outfit and run, before the babysitter will change their mind. Different times, different habits then. I think that in my life I did own not even half of the cosmetic products DiL has in the bathroom and the vanity at the moment. Truth be told, I did not even own a vanity!
It was nice with the boys. They were quite different with hubby away. Maybe they dislike being reprimanded constantly! Yet I was glad, when hubby returned for getting the boys to bed- teeth brushing is definitely not their favourite pastime! Besides, I had to fob off sister's attempts at getting into our house for a visit tomorrow afternoon- at half past seven, when the rascals prepared for bed! Bad timing, indeed!
