This is annoying
Jan. 26th, 2026 07:40 pm How am I supposed to have a good start into the new day when I am denied my quiet breakfast once again? Today I got up ten minutes to seven, and how shall I put it? Ten minutes later there were two people having breakfast. Needless to say that I kept my favourite meal short and went upstairs to do the beds and a bit of reading. I haven´t the faintest idea why loud sounds in the morning will turn me into a grumpy old lady for the whole morning. Also no clue why husband mine seems to love this, otherwise he might change is morning habits and make his wife happy. Hubby soon was off for the butcher to buy more meat for curing. Our sons must be insatiable concerning bacon, because it´s definitely not me who eats it. Yes, I use bacon for cooking. Now and then. Never much. Yet often ennough I won´t find any in the fridge...With hubby off I quickly turned my PC on and continued with the new knitting project. Not that easy when one does not have a tutelage and has to estimate the number of stitches! I sincerely hope that the cat´s head will work out! With hubby back I pretended to be the good housewife every man dreams of and removed the last baubles from the birch branch on the wall. Husband quickly came to the rescue- he knows how I detest to step on a ladder! That´s why I sent him into the garden afterwards, because there are still baubles high up the trees, and no one knows when it will start with raining, least of all our weather forecast. Maybe I should invest in a better, more accurate one, which will surely cost. My friend has one, because she needs it for her sailing trips.
Today was have-a-soup-for-lunch day. We had rolls from Saturday, bought at Aldi, which meant those weren´t edible on Sunday for people who intend to keep their teeth. So I made Italian tomato soup with fake Schöberl. Used the tiny eggs hubby accidentally bought in the shop last weeks- not bigger than eggs laid by a bantam. Finally, they are all gone! It gets ridiculous what they sell in the shops- less content in the boxes but almost double the price might work with chocolate or coffee, but eggs? Seriously?
In the afternoon I vacuumed my car- with temperatures up to five degrees it was finally warm enough to do so. Most of the dirt got caused by grandsons´ muddy shoes. Darn, can one of them or probably both skywalk, because I found footprints on the headliner! While outside I watched the Baronesse hunting- okay, she tried to hunt, I frightened the birds away. Still no sign from the cute white cat which used to come for daily visits. Only her brother shows up now and then. That´s odd, and I assume the worst. After vacuuming I was done with work for today. I turned my mobile on for some nice Chinese recipes on FB- hubby has cut off some pork for tomorrow´s lunch and already talks about ragout. I wielded the bunch of spring onions and ginger, to tell him what is planned for lunch. Hope he got that hint, my husband is resistant to learning and a diehard, if ever there was one...
