My goodness!
Mar. 3rd, 2026 06:29 pm Sneezing is on, and not only with me! We had the windows open this night. Only a bit, to not let in too much cold (we were still down to two degrees in the morning), but it felt nice- at first. That was until I started sneezing, and hubby joined me soon after. In the morning, after breakfast, I changed the bedding- more sneezing, because I am allergic to house dust mites- desensitization did definitely not work properly. I was brave and wandered into the garden for further pruning, but returned soon after, my eyes red and puffy, sneezing worse than before. Daughter came and joined me in my misery (I successfully managed to pass on my allergies). Doing the jigsaw was exceptionally interesting- the pieces are smaller than usual and tend to go off at even slight irritations like... sneezing. But we managed to finish the darn thing, even without an overall pattern. This we found only after we took out the last two bags with more jigsaws- a big poster which shows the items and where they are located. Blimey, would have made jigsawing so much easier!
We decided to postpone the tour to the Chinese grocery shop. Will do so tomorrow, after picking daughter dearest up after her next early shift. Even better this way, because security controlling has been tightened after Big D's next stroke of genius, and she´d have to take the groceries to work. BTW: Our Austrian idiot party aka FPÖ thought it an act of brilliance (and provocation) if they´d give free Leberkäsesemmeln out at the parking lot of the airport, blocking the short stay parking zone meant for cabs, in hope that Islamic passengers might be offended (Leberkäse contains pork!). Only that there were not many of them, because flights to the Near East got all cancelled. But the crews of two planes were very interested, and boarding was somewhat delayed. The staff had to fill out a form to state the reason of delay. They pondered and pondered.. now I am not sure how Easy Jet and Ryan Air will react, when they see Leberkäsesemmeln as the reason of delay.
Our neighbours´ grandchild, young Charlotte, broke her ankle today while running with her friends in the garden. I already noticed the gazillions of vole tunnels all over the gardens and banned Cassian and Flavius from racing along, before hubby will have installed vole scare and level out the lawn. Not so long ago my friend´s son was playing football in their garden, when his foot got caught in such a tunnel- broke his upper leg and was stuck in bed for quite a while. All these things hubby and I will have to consider, when our house will get swarmed by grandchildren in summer, while their parents are at work or simply holidaying without offspring...
