Up early

 I got home at four fifteen and huddled up in my bed, intent on staying there until we had to get up at six thirty. I was thoroughly depressed- on the way back home I had found a friend´s new cat, which had just replaced the late old cat, dead on the street. Overrun by a car- not funny, because the owner is an old lady, cat lover, and this was her last cat, she had said. Then there was loud shouting- Flavius had a very intense dream, then howling (Cassian had ended his brother´s dreaming by the use of an elbow), and at five fifteen both boys were in our bed. At six we got up, there´s not space enough even in a marital bed for two adults and just as many boys, the latter fighting non-stop. Needless to say that neither hubby nor I were amused, and never before our grandchildren had been in school and kindergarten that early. Finally hubby and I had our breakfast, hubby was off shopping then, I indulged in a long, hot, aromatic shower supposed to tune down my overactice nasal system. I did housework (not much, too tired) and when completely dried up (my hair) I went outside and did some repotting. Even dragged one of the palm trees to the carport for the same, then noticed that I had to buy palm pots first- palms are deep-rooted plants, hence special pots to buy. I was too tired to do so, knowing that there´d be another early shift looming this night, one I had completely forgotten about. Besides, weather was sunny but not warm at all and very windy. At least I did not have to cook, there was still some wonton strudel in the oven, and hubby was content to have scrambled eggs with bacon and salad for his lunch. Daughter got picked up, we did a few crossword puzzles then slept in front of the TV for more than one hour. Afterwards I hung the washing up in the living room and set fire to the wood in the oven to make the living room cosy- twenty degrees is not nearly enough to feel comfortable when watching TV...
