Neighbour vet is on vacation, so her surgery is closed. Her friend, who lives upstairs, has left to visit her older sister. Vet´s house has a huge two-floor wintergarden facing our house, and both´s, vet´s and her friend´s, fixed phone are installed on one of those floors. Both of the phones are ringing continuously (for real) this midmorning, as are my ears. The weather is nice, it´s 25 degrees C outside, and I have to bolt all of my windows to block out the noise. For the first time in years I´m glad that I have to leave for work now, to get rid of the ringing, but tomorrow is my free day, and I wanted to spend it in my garden, and not confined to my rooms, preferably those facing away from my neighbours´ abode. I am tempted to cut the telephone cord during night!
