Still no snow here, but temperatures too cold didn´t go away. It's definitely no fun to have to leave the house, when it's three thirty in the morning and minus 15! Thank heavens that soon we will be up to four degrees during day (still down to freezing during night), I am so fed up with the cold already! Even more since I am bone tired and drag myself barely along, feeling the too cool temperatures in the house more acutely with not enough sleep! The bedroom especially won´t get over 17 degrees, and only in the afternoon hubby found out that the radiator won´t get as warm as its brethren in the ´studio´ nearby. No clue why- new valves, no air, only source of trouble might be the radiator thermostat hubby installed this autumn. But since all others in the house are working fine…
Scenery has changed- no cats in the morning (those probably stay inside at their owners´ house) but birdies waiting in front of the terrace door for morning feeding. Hubby has bought a whole bucket of sunflower seeds and another with peanut kernels. Greedy little things those birds are, getting more adventurous each day! Some of them won´t even fly off when I get out!
I had to water all plants in the house this morning. Easy with the ones upstairs and in the kitchen, but oh, the horror, having to spend more than a few seconds in the ice-cold conservatory! At least the watering process woke me up completely! I took a shower then, dressed warmly and braved the garden to help hubby put away the coloured Christmas lights. After some minutes we gave up and simply turned them off. The clear lighting will stay until the end of February as a defence against burglars. Seems that a lot of them got set loose during the dark season, police is doing patrols practically each night but won´t catch those criminals.
Not much of importance got done today- I was tired, and my molar has started hurting again three days ago. A bit at first, then the pain grew worse. I intended to call my dentist, but guess who is still on vacation…means that I will have to bridge this week with pain medication. The good man is holidaying quite often I´d say, especially since his youngest daughter has finished school! At least I managed to put away some of the Christmas decoration- the pieces on the boys´ Advent wreath went back to the cabinet, candles are in a drawer, same with the main wreath- both are outside decoration for the next month. The HP Christmas tree is undecorated, too. Maybe I will continue tomorrow, maybe not. There´s no deadline pressure, it´s me who decides when things will get done. And grumpy me says that I don´t feel like undecorating- period!
